Founding Open Day — Saturday, 29 August 2026

STUDENT LIFE

After-School Care & Enrichment

A school day ends at 3:30. A working day does not. From our founding year, we cover the gap.

The afternoon

What actually happens between 3:30 and 5:30

Not a holding pen with a television. A sequence, staffed by the same teachers who taught the day.

  1. 3:30 PM

    Snack, and outside

Nobody does homework straight after a school day. The first half hour is food and the field — it is the difference between a productive hour and a fought one.

  2. 4:00 PM

    Supervised homework

A quiet room, a teacher in it, and the day's work done before it goes home. For most families this is the entire point: the evening stops being about arguing over an exercise book.

  3. 4:45 PM

    Reading circle or elective

Reading aloud in a small group, or a workshop — chess, coding, an instrument. Chosen by the child, not assigned.

  4. 5:30 PM

    Collection

Homework finished, energy spent, handed over at the gate.

The commute problem

Two hours here beats two hours in traffic

A 3:30 finish in Nairobi means either leaving work early or paying someone else to do the collection. Neither is good for the child, and both are expensive.

Staying on site until 5:30 puts those hours on open grounds with the people who already know your child, and sends them home with the homework done.
