Elyton has its own swimming pool on the Magadi Road campus in Karen, and swimming is taught on site from the first term, rather than children being bussed out to a hired lane across town.
Why on-site swimming matters
When a school has no pool, swimming means a bus, a hired lane and a lesson squeezed between journeys. On site, the time goes into the water. It also means swimming can be part of the regular timetable rather than an occasional trip.
Swimming and the curriculum
Physical education is part of the British National Curriculum at every Key Stage, and swimming sits within it. At Elyton it begins from the first term and continues alongside athletics on our 400m all-weather track.
