ACADEMICS

Preschool & Early Years

The British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), for children aged 3 to 5, built around play and the seven areas of learning the framework sets out.

The areas of learning

Aligned with the British Early Years Foundation Stage, taught through play rather than as separate lessons.

  • Communication & Language

Interactive story sessions, vocabulary building and confident verbal expression in small circles.

  • Personal & Emotional Development

Building empathy, self-confidence, cooperative play and emotional resilience.

  • Physical Coordination

Fine motor crafts and gross motor sensory play in the Early Years outdoor ground.

  • Literacy & Early Phonics

Recognising sounds, letter shapes and early mark-making through hands-on play.

  • Mathematics & Shapes

Counting games, spatial patterns, sorting and real-world number exploration.

  • Understanding the World

Nature walks, sensory gardening and exploring Karen's grounds.

Dedicated spaces

A wing of their own

Our Early Years spaces are set apart from the older children, with their own rooms and their own outdoor ground — so a three-year-old's first term at school happens at three-year-old scale. Classes are capped at twenty-five from our founding year.
