Primary School (Key Stages 1 & 2)

British Curriculum, Key Stages 1 & 2

Two key stages, each with its own timetable, class sizes capped at twenty-five, and a clear line of progress between them.

Years 1 & 2 Framework

Foundational Primary (Ages 5–7)

The move from play-based Early Years into sit-down academic work, taken in stages rather than in one step.

  • Systematic synthetic phonics, daily reading, and first structured writing
  • Number fluency and problem solving to national expectations
  • Science, Kiswahili, art, music and PE — all taught weekly
  • Twenty-five children per class, capped

What is on the timetable

Every subject below is taught weekly to every year group, not rotated in when time allows.

English & Literacy

Phonics, comprehension, composition, and speaking to an audience.

Mathematics

Number fluency, geometry, data handling, and multi-step problems.

Sciences & ICT

Practical biology and physical science, environmental study, and digital literacy.

Arts & Languages

Studio art, music performance, and Kiswahili from Year 1.
