Elyton is admitting for January 2027, mid-way through the 2026/27 school year, at every stage from Crèche to Year 6. Children join the year group for their age, and the application is free, online and takes about fifteen minutes.
Why January works
Kenya's school year starts in January, so it is a natural moment for families moving from a CBC or 8-4-4 school, arriving in Nairobi after the December break, or changing schools at the turn of the year. In the British calendar, January is the start of the second term: children join a class that has had one term together, in a founding cohort small enough for a newcomer to settle quickly.
Which year group
Children join the year group for their age on 1 September 2026, the start of the current school year. The age finder shows it in seconds. A child moving from CBC is often one year group above the number of their CBC grade, because Year 1 starts a year earlier than Grade 1.

Questions parents ask
Can my child start at Elyton in January?
Yes. Elyton admits for January 2027 at every stage from Crèche to Year 6, into the year group for the child's age.
Will my child be behind if they join mid-year?
The Meet your child session and school report show where your child is, and any gaps get a support plan from the first day. Classes capped at twenty-five make that possible.
How are fees charged if we join in January?
Tuition is charged per term. Admissions confirms exactly what is due for a January start before you accept a place.
