Booking a private campus tour? Five things worth making time for. Your walk of the campus and your conversation with the admissions team run together, so there is no wrong order to ask about them.
1. The classrooms, quiet and ready
Our first term hasn't begun, so you get something an established school can't offer: the actual room your child would sit in, empty of any lesson in progress. Look at the light, the size, the sightlines from the back.
Ask the obvious question — where will my child sit, and how many others will be in here?
2. The track and the fields
A four-hundred-metre all-weather track wraps the main building, alongside open playing fields.
Ask how often your child would actually get onto it. At most schools with a track this size, time on it is rationed between year groups. In our founding year, one small cohort has the run of all of it — ask us to show you the numbers.
Children are welcome to run the field while you look around. We would encourage it.
3. The teaching team, in person
These are the people who will take your child's class, appointed before we opened admissions rather than hired afterwards to match enrolment. Ask where they have taught, what they think about how children learn to read, and what they will do in week one with a room full of strangers.
4. A direct line to leadership
Ask to raise the bigger questions — curriculum, staffing, timeline, what is finished on site and what is still being finished — with our Head of School or admissions lead directly. Nothing is off the table.
5. Private time with the admissions team
Bring your child's most recent school report if you have it, and get specifics: the exact entry point for your child, transport routes from where you live, the full fee schedule, what a founding place includes. Most families who take a founding place decide after this conversation.
Planning your visit
Tours run weekday mornings and afternoons, Magadi Road, Karen, and take about an hour. Free to attend, with free parking on site.
Book ahead so a teacher is free to walk you round personally rather than turning up unannounced. Comfortable shoes help, since the walking route covers every learning wing and the sports precinct.
